No tinsel
or ribbons
No surprise boxes in the morning
Nothing to unwrap
No squeals of joy at good giving
Homeless at
Christmas
By Anthony Buccino
Three kids and
their mom
Alone in the hotel
room
No home of their
own
On the public
assistance
The story of how
they end up here
Is too personal to
tell you
But believe me,
it's there
Three kids and
their mom
Alone in the hotel
room
Getting ready for
Christmas
No tinsel or
ribbons
No surprise boxes
in the morning
Nothing to unwrap
No squeals of joy
at good giving
The boxes of food
arrive
From the can drive
at the local school
And somebody asks
what they'll do
With all those
cans if they're homeless
Three kids and
their mom
Alone in a hotel
room
